MicroGuard is an extension to a GSM mobile phone which can be perfectly used to control car or boat heaters. In addition it can be connected to your alarm system enabling alarming via GSM network or, if required, optionally provide current temperature in the car by SMS. The operating distance to your car is not limited as in case of radio remote controls.
MicroGuard does work with the old generation of SIEMENS mobile phones which are still available on the market. The SIMENS mobile is permanently located in your car - you can use any kind of mobile for your personal use. Our module can automatically reactivate* the phone in case it unintentionally shuts off. This special feature provides the highest possible operational reliability.
Our module is perfectly suitable to be connected to Eberspächer timer E111 (type with 12 pins) being widelly used in VW T4 transporters. The advantage of our solution is your comfort: Simple connection using only one wire!
 No relay required. The signal wire is connected directly to PIN7 of the timer interface. Detailed description can be found in the Installation Instructions on our web page.
Prociples of operation:
- You can select between switching by SMS and/or switching by call.
- During the switching operation our module generates a short ground pulse on PIN7 of the timer interface . A subsequent SMS or call turns the heater off. If no subsequent call is executed the heater turns off according to the time setting in the timer.
- Unintentional switching by third-party SMS or call is not possible, since the number of the SMS sender and / or the caller is verified by comparison to the numbers saved in the system (phone book of the mobile phone). The permission to control the module can be assigned to up to five caller IDs. The registration of the individual IDs is very easy - just edit the free entries in the phone book after initialisation.
- Power supply os provided directly from the cell phone interface. Use our battery replacement to connect the power directly to +12V of the car battery (use a 5A fuse). The use of our battery replacement guaranties reliable operation of the system down to the temperatures below -20?C .
Note:
There are some similar products on the market for heater remote controls which do not work reliably already at temperatures slightly below 0?C. The reason is those products still utilize the phone battery for contineous operation. However, standard batteries for mobile phones can only be charged at temperatures above 0?C, so these solutions ultimately lead to failure in the winter time. But when, if not in winter your heater should run reliably?

Assembly and connectors
The MicroGuard assembly is depicted below. Following connectors are available:
- (A) Connector for mobile phone models SIEMENS S/M55 and later
- (B) Connector for mobile phone models SIEMENS S25, S/C/M35, S/C/ME45, M50/MT50
- (C) Recepticle connection for mobile chargers corresponding to the list from (B)
- (D) Recepticle connection for mobile chargers corresponding to the list from (A)
- (E) Connector to parking heater timer and/or to alarm system
LED (1) indicating operation status.
Wiring (20cm) for the connector (E) is included into the product shipment. It can be extenden as needed.
Delivery includes (please order optional items in our web shop):
- MicroGuard.AUX (extension module), new, in original package with 24 months warranty.
- Wiring for connector (E), 20cm, use to connect directly to the timer and/or alarm system.
- Microguard.PWR (battery replacement), new, including wiring for power connection (15cm).
Using the battery replacement guarantees low-temperature operation and reactivation without additional car charger**.
- Option (19,90 EUR extra): Sensor for SMS-temperature reporting.

** When using the models C45/S45(i)/ME45(i) and M50/MT50 additional car charger is required to make reactivation work reliably.
Without car charger all functions except reactivation are still available.
Note:
- You will need a SIEMENS mobile with data/fax support (see the list of models below) and an active SIM card.
- For parking heaters we recommend mobile models C35(i), M35(i) and S35(i).
- SIEMENS mobiles are available in our web shop for 32,-EUR extra.
- Mobile phone and SIM card are not included into the shipment of this article.
